Minister of Amerindian Affairs Pauline Sukhai presented two ATVs to Taushida and Rukumuto villages, during an outreach exercise in the Region Nine community on Thursday.
According to a Government Information Agency (GINA) press release the vehicle was presented to Toshao Moses Isaacs to lessen transportation woes in the area. President Bharrat Jagdeo had committed to providing the vehicle during a recent outreach to the community.
In her address, Sukhai urged the villagers to use the machine for its intended purpose and conduct regular maintenance on it.
The second vehicle was presented to Rukumuto Village Toshao Joseph Austin. GINA said it was financed from the ministry’s 2011 capital budget.
