The Guyana Power and Light Company (GPL) is moving to facilitate 24-hour electricity supply to the Essequibo River islands of Leguan and Wakenaam, in keeping with a promise made in this year’s budget.
The company, in yesterday’s edition of the Guyana Chronicle, said that it is seeking to purchase three 600 KW generating sets for all-day power supply to the islands. Bidders, according to the advertisement, are required to submit “a detailed and comprehensive bid consisting of Technical and Commercial Proposal and conditions/schedule of non-compliance, if any”.
According to the notice, bid documents can be purchased for a non-refundable fee of $5,000 from the Secretary –Procurement and Inventory Accounting Manager of GPL. The documents could
