Belgium-based Blair Wynn scored a hat-trick as a youthful T&T senior women’s hockey squad thrashed Guyana 7-0 in the first of a three-match series at the National Hockey Centre, Tacarigua on Friday night.
It was the second hat-trick for Blair in three matches versus the visitors after she achieved the feat in a 9-0 win back in June
In addition to Wynn, her Notre Dame team-mates Arielle du Quesnay (two) and her cousin, Curlyne Wynne were also on target in the first-half while Minday Charles of Harvard Maritime Checkers got the other.
Both teams were expected to meet again last night while the final matches take place today from 09:00 hours at the same venue.
T&T coached by Anthony Marcano is using the matches as part of their preparations for the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico in October from October 19 to 28.
The Pan American Games serves as a qualifier for next year’s London Olympics and will feature T&T in Group A alongside Argentina, Barbados and Canada while Group B comprises Chile, Cuba, Mexico and USA.
