The annual summer camp organized by the Guyana Lawn Tennis Association (GLTA) and sponsored by P and P Insurance Brokers Company Limited will run from July 11-18.
The event, for children between the ages of six-18, will be held at the Le Meridien, Pegasus Hotel courts, according to a release from Grace Mc Alman.
“The camp which is sponsored annually by P&P Insurance Brokers is the feature event of the year for the Tennis Association where children at all levels enjoy fun practice drills and competitions in order to gain appreciation for the sport of tennis,” the releases from Mc Alman stated.
P& P Insurance Brokers have been sponsoring the annual camp since 2004 and according to the release, “the successful execution of the camp has brought greater participation and enthusiasm once again to the junior tennis arena where each year at least 60-80 children participate in the camp.”
Most of the advanced juniors currently at the top of their game were once participants in this great event.
The camp is geared for children aged 6 to 18 years old and will be held at the Pegasus Hotel Tennis Courts on weekdays for two weeks.
Play time is scheduled from 9-11am for (for 6-11 years) and 12-2pm (for 12-18 years).
Camp fees per child will be $3000 for the two week period. Registration is being done by telephone by contacting 642-5672 or 643-4423. All parents are asked to be present to complete registration with fees at 8:00am on July 11 so that the Opening Ceremony for the camp can start on schedule at 8:30am.
