The ruling People’s Progressive Party/Civic has reported that its Facebook page was hacked sometime yesterday morning.
According to a release from the party, technicians were working to repair the cyber attack and measures are being put in place to guard against similar forays against other PPP/C sites on the internet.
The party stated that it has not been ascertained exactly who is responsible for the attack and it strongly condemned the development.
The PPP/C apologized to its followers who use the medium to interact with the party and also those who use the site as a source of information regarding the activities of the party.
The Facebook page was accessible last evening but messages were issued on items posted by the party that the site was hacked soon after reaching the 4000 mark in terms of membership yesterday morning.
