(Barbados Nation) There are not enough cows in Barbados and there is a definite need for more, says president of the Barbados Dairy and Beef Producers Association, Paul Davis.
In an interview with the WEEKEND NATION yesterday Davis said some farmers were having difficulties with their cows’ “reproductive management”.
Davis said the difficulty was related to the country’s climate.
The association was therefore looking at the possibility of importing cows at an estimated price of Bds$8 000 per heifer in calf.
