Yesterday, police ranks conducted a narcotics eradication operation at Hauraruni Creek, Soesdyke/Linden Highway.
According to a release from police headquarters, the police found a field of about thirteen acres under cultivation with approximately15, 600 cannabis sativa (marijuana) plants ranging between 3 feet and 12 feet in height, along with eight nurseries containing approximately 40,000 seedlings, three tarpaulin camps, 20 kgs dried cannabis sativa and 2 kgs cannabis seeds. The marijuana plants, seedlings, dried cannabis and seeds were destroyed.
No one was arrested, the release said.
