(De Ware Tijd) PARAMARIBO – On Friday, the registration of all squatters in Paramaribo and Wanica was started at Sunny Point by Social Affairs and Housing Minister Alice Amafo. The ultimate goal is to give squatters a legal status by providing them with deeds to the squatted land. Starting on Saturday, fifty pollsters will go door-to-door in Sunny Point, Devisbuiten, Rahemalproject and Goede Verwachting to register all squatters of houses and land.
