The police are investing the death of Premchand Sugrim, 47 years of No. 54 Village, Corentyne, who died at the GPHC today Wednesday July 20, 2011.
Sugrim was admitted to hospital on July 10, 2011, after he allegedly had been struck to his head with a piece of metal during an argument with his fifteen-year-old nephew.
The nephew was earlier charged with attempted murder and had appeared at theNo. 51 Magistrate Court, Corentyne on July 13, 2011, where he was remanded into police custody.
