The government today tabled the long-delayed broadcast legislation, which had been promised since the PPP/C took office in 1992.
The Broadcasting Bill 2011 was tabled by Prime Minister Samuel Hinds today in the National Assembly. It is to make provision for the setting up of a National Broadcasting Authority, to be responsible for the regulation, supervision and development of the National Broadcasting System. The law would also provide for the licensing of broadcasting agencies.
