Imtiaz Ally, 28, was on Tuesday arraigned on drug-related charges at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, which heard that he sold marijuana to a policeman.
Ally appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton on two narcotics charges and was remanded to prison.
It was alleged that Ally, on July 15, at 162 Fifth Street, Meten-Meer-Zorg, West Coast Demerara, had in his possession four grammes of cannabis. Ally pleaded not guilty and was placed on $15,000 bail for this charge.
However, Ally was remanded to prison until July 21 on the charge that allegedly sold two grammes of cannabis to Police Officer Mohamed Edoo on the same day.
He will return to Court One on July 25 for report and fixture.
