Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday granted $50,000 bail to a teenager accused of robbing a woman of gold articles valued $121,000. The allegation is that on Saturday, at Georgetown, the defendant along with another, robbed Harmonan Budhram of two gold chains valued $121,000; property of the said Budhram.
The teen was not required to plead to the indictable charge when it was read to him, in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
Also, the prosecution did not object to the bail petition.
The matter will be called again on September 8, 2011.
