The Miss Guyana World 2011 Swimsuit Segment was hosted on Friday evening at Le Meridien Pegasus and was off to a “true Guyanese start,” according to Franchise Holder Carwyn Holland after the event began 70 minutes later than scheduled.
The six contestants, Arti Cameron, Soyini Fraser, Ruquayyah Boyer, Utieka John, Siestra Allen and Celeste Dolphin, all appeared in striking blue, two-piece bikinis as they danced their way onto the stage.
The six ladies entertained the audience with their exotic movements and later each strut their stuff as they made individual appearances, displaying amazing energy.
The girls managed to capture the focus of everyone that had gathered at the poolside, as all eyes were glued to them for the short time they appeared, 30 minutes maximum.
The judging criteria included tone, fitness, poise, eye contact and expression.
Joel Ghansham and Keen McRae, the Host and Hostess of Friday evening’s proceedings, noted that as the girls take this journey, followers will notice that they are not just beautiful but are intelligent as well, with McRae noting that their stellar education background only adds to their wittiness, physique and beauty.
Prior to this, patrons were entertained by the Majestic Band, which sang for well over an hour as the crowd waited for the programme to begin. Also making appearances were the ‘Belza Family’, Livia Prescott, a US- based Guyanese who added some soca flavour to the evening, Local Rapper Don Gialiani and Rolston ‘Rallo’ Richmond out of the First Born group.
Among those in attendance were Miss Guyana Universe 2011 Kara Lord and Princess of the World-Guyana Christine Camacho.
Also mentioned was the fact that on July 31, not only will the Miss Guyana World 2011 queen will be crowned, but three others as well. The Miss Guyana Caribbean World Pageant, the Miss United Nations Pageant and Princess of the World Pageant will all be hosted on the same night.
