A 22-year-old man accused of wounding another was on Friday placed on $25,000 bail when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The allegation against Carlos Singh is that on July 14 at Georgetown, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Kevon Park.
The defendant who resides at 142 Fifth Street, Alberttown, Georgetown was not required to plead to the indictable charge of unlawful wounding when it was read to him.
Attorney-at-law Adrian Thompson made a successful bail application for his client. The lawyer said that his client has no antecedents, poses no risk of flight, has a fixed address and has been cooperating with the police.
In requesting bail in a reasonable sum, Thompson said that Singh was of little means.
The prosecution had no objection to the defendant being granted his pre-trial liberty.
No facts of what transpired on the day in question were presented to the court.
The matter was transferred to Court One for September 9.
