Norman Holder of Lot 6 James Street, Albouys-town, Georgetown, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
According to a police press release, this charge followed investigations into a fatal accident that occurred on April 4, 2011, at Barr Street, Kitty, which resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
As a consequence, the police said, Holder’s driver’s licence has been suspended pending the outcome of the matter.
A previous police report had revealed that the pedestrian Rabindranauth Goorsammy, 56, of Sophia, was standing on Barr Street, when he was struck down by the driver of motor van GKK 6698.
Goorsammy sustained injuries about the body and was taken to a private hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
