Sacked doctor, Vishwamintra Persaud was yesterday released on $400,000 bail at the High Court in Berbice more than one week after he was remanded on charges of sexually molesting a 13-year-old girl.
Justice William Ramlal before whom a petition was filed by attorney-at-law, Joel Persid Edmond granted bail to Dr. Persaud on several conditions which include staying at least 500 metres away from the victim and having no contact with her or her family.
He was also ordered to lodge his Guyana passport, have no communication directly or indirectly with the girl and to report to the Fort Wellington Police station every Monday and Friday at 10 AM.
