The Able/Disable Athletic Club headed by William France will stage a fund-raising walk-a-thon tomorrow in Essequibo from 07:15hrs in the morning.
The walk will start from the Dartmouth Bridge and finish at the Anna Regina Police Station.
The event, according to France, is being held to raise funds for seven disabled athletes including himself who are aspiring to participate in the annual Terry Fox Run in Canada on September 16. The trip will cost a total of $750,000 for the three amputees, three wheel chaired participants and one visually impaired athlete France disclosed.
France also took the time to thank the Director of Sports, Neil Kumar, who provided sponsorship for the walk along with Traffic Officer, Shauna Caldera, Eric Bassant and Jaigobin Supermarket for their assistance.
