Minister of Education Shaik Baksh yesterday secured an interim injunction from Chief Justice Ian Chang restraining the Editor of Kaieteur News, Adam Harris, and the publisher of the newspaper, National Media and Publishing Company Ltd, from publishing certain statements in connection with the award of a computers contract.
Justice Chang, in Chambers yesterday, ordered that the defendants not publish the words or any letter or articles which contain the complained of statements. The matter is returnable for August 8, 2011.
The lawsuit follows a series of reports in the Kaieteur News on the award of a computer contract to Digital Technology.
