Model homes among building expo standouts

Model homes were among the attention grabbers at the opening of the Building Expo last evening.

Several companies have constructed actual homes at the exhibition, which allowed visitors to explore their options. HomeWell Builders – a recently formed company – constructed a 28×30 square foot model of one of their homes. The company uses environmentally friendly products and offers luxurious living conditions at affordable prices. They also design landscapes and outdoor living spaces.

There were also deals and new products on display. ‘Kiss your landlord goodbye,’ urged the brochures of the New Building Society (NBS), which has slashed its mortgage interest rates. NBS is offering reduced interest rates starting from August 1. Meanwhile, Paint company Torginol Inc launched two new products; Torgaplast and Torgatext paints. A company representative said that last year the expo was a great success but this year it has been off to a better start.

Guy-America and other companies displayed furniture such as kitchen and bedroom sets.  Guy-America was also at the last building expo and a company representative said their main focus is to provide quality products. This year they have a wide variety of outdoor furniture and complete kitchen sets at affordable prices for all different incomes.

Mohammad Roashandin, owner of Guy-America, says that last year’s expo was a great success and that they are looking forward to another great year. “We have had a rush of orders ever since last year and when we ask people how they heard about our products, a majority of them say from Building Expo,” he said. He said that this year the exhibitions are more organised and there is a greater variety of services and products.

Guyana Water Inc. also had a booth where they were showing persons the best and safest techniques of rainwater harvesting. One patron said that this year’s exposition was a giant step up from last year’s. “Everything is so much more organised. The layout is beautiful and the atmosphere is good,” she said.
