Akbar Ali and Steven Parsram, who were charged with the slaughter of a Beterverwagting (B/V) domestic dog, were yesterday granted bail of $80,000 bail each when they appeared in court.
On July 21, the men were remanded to prison when they appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court charged with maliciously slaughtering Pradeep Lall’s pet dog during a dog-slaughtering campaign.
They further made court appearances on July 26 and 29, on Wednesday and yesterday for the Preliminary Inquiry into the matter. So far Lall, his wife Shalinie Singh, Veterinarian Dr Waldron, and a B/V station sergeant have all given their testimonies.
The men were ordered to appear in court on August 29.
