A vendor was placed on $50,000 bail on a charge that he unlawfully and maliciously wounded another man. At the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Fredrick Hendricks, 45, of Lot 206 ‘C’ Field Sophia’ was charged with wounding Bernard Collie, on August 3, at Croal Street.
It was also alleged that Hendricks unlawfully and maliciously damaged a pair of spectacles, valued $26,000, and belonging to Collie.
Hendricks pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to him by Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton.
No account of what transpired on the day in question was presented to the court.
The prosecution had no objection to bail but requested that the defendant be granted bail at a substantial sum to ensure that he returns to court. The matter was later transferred to Court one for October 17.
