Three men were arrested when police yesterday conducted a drug eradication operation at Calm Water, Kamuni Creek, Upper Demerara River, where ganja fields were found.
During the exercise, four fields with approximately 60,000 marijuana plants were found, along with 80 kilogrammes of dried cannabis and nurseries with about 40,000 seedlings, police said in a statement.
The ganja plants ranged between 2 feet and 9 feet in height. Two camps were also found and were destroyed along with the marijuana, the statement said.
Three men have since been arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
