A woman accused of fraudulently converting $2M entrusted to her by her mother was yesterday admitted to bail in the sum of $200,000 when she appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton.
The allegation against Sabrina Maria France, 28, is that on August 23, 2009, she was solely entrusted by Lynette Sheriff with $2M, in order that she may retain the money and return it to the said Sheriff, but she fraudulently converted same to her own use and benefit.
France, of 158 Campbellville Housing Scheme, was not required to plead to the indictable charge of fraudulent conversion when it was read to her by the Magistrate at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The prosecution had no objection to the accused being admitted to bail but requested that it be in a substantial sum. The matter was transferred to Court One for October 20.
No facts of what transpired on the day in question were presented to the court.
