Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton yesterday remanded a robbery accused, after he gave the court a false address.
Shane Andrew London, 20, appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on a charge of robbery from the person. It was alleged that on August12, at Kingston, Georgetown, he stole from the person of Ruby Savory a Sony digital camera, valued $60,000, a Samsung cell phone, valued $32,000, and $43,000 cash.
London, who gave his address as Lot 46 ‘B’ Field Sophia, pleaded not guilty to the charges and made an application for bail. However, Police Corporal Venetta Pindar objected to bail, on the grounds that the address that the accused had given to the police differed from the one he gave to the court.
As a result, London was remanded to prison until October 24, when the matter will be called again at Court One.
