Christine Gasper, who is accused of talking to her imprisoned son, was on Friday placed on $5,500 bail by Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The charge against Gasper, 47, is that on August 11, at Brickdam Road, Georgetown, she communicated with Mark Gasper, a prisoner in custody at the Brickdam lock-ups.
The Hadfield Street, Georgetown resident pleaded not guilty to the charge of communicating with a prisoner when it was read to her. No facts of what transpired on the day in question were presented to the court.
Attorney Adrian Thompson requested that his client be granted bail on the grounds that she had no antecedents posed no risk of flight and had a fixed address. The prosecution did not object to bail.
The case was adjourned until October 24, when it would be heard at Court One.
