TAUNTON, England, CMC – Young West Indies stroke-maker Darren Bravo failed but Nottinghamshire still did enough to beat Somerset by three wickets with a ball to spare in the Clydesdale Bank 40 Championship here yesterday.
The left-hander made just seven as Notts finished on 144 for seven to overhaul the revised target of 143 off 16 overs after rain intervened.
Somerset had earlier scored 156 off 19.2 overs after being sent in.
Batting at number three, Bravo cracked a four over long-on to start well but tried to go over wide long-on off his ninth delivery but succeeded only in holing out to Jos Buttler off left-arm spinner Arul Suppiah in the seventh over.
He now has 32 runs from two innings after getting 25 against Glamorgan last Friday.
Captain Chris Read hit 42 from 22 balls to get Notts over the line.
