ST JOHN’S, Antigua, CMC – Fifteen-year-old Barbadian Shaquana Quintyne has been named in a 14-member West Indies women’s squad to face Pakistan on the upcoming tour of the Caribbean.
A leg-spinner, Quintyne will join fellow national Kycia Knight as the two debutants in the side which will be led by regular captain Merissa Aguilleira.
West Indies face Pakistan in four One-Day Internationals and four Twenty20 Internationals starting August 28.
The 19-year-old Knight, also a national footballer, has been included as the second string wicketkeeper behind Aguilleira.
Both Quintyne and Knight played for Barbados in the recent WICB Regional Championship staged in Bridgetown and which was won by Jamaica.
World rated all-rounder Stafanie Taylor and attacking batsman Deandra Dottin will also boost the West Indies side for the series.
The four ODIs will be played in St Vincent with the two opening T20s scheduled for Grenada and the last two carded for Guyana.
