BIRMINGHAM, England, CMC – Shiv Chanderpaul’s inauspicious start to his stint with Warwickshire continued yesterday when he was dismissed for one on the opening day of the County Championship match against Hampshire at Edgbaston.
The veteran left-hander four-day debut lasted just five deliveries before he edged seamer Dimitri Mascarenhas to Liam Dawson at slip, with Warwickshire on 48 for three.
They finished the day on 96 for four, responding to Hampshire’s 141 all out.
On Wednesday, Chanderpaul also fell cheaply on his limited overs debut as Warwickshire went down by 130 runs to Surrey at the same venue in the Clydesdale Bank 40 tournament.
He started positively, cracking two fours and a six in scoring 17 off just 12 balls but perished in the eighth over at 42 for two as Warwickshire were bowled out for 152, in pursuit of 283 for victory.
