(Barbados Nation) The quality of diesel on the local market is of concern to luxury vehicle importers.
The DAILY NATION understands that at least two dealerships have put a halt on diesel-powered vehicles and are selling gasoline vehicles only.
Dealers are saying there is evidence to suggest the quality of diesel is affecting the engines of the high-end vehicles.
Group brand manager of BMW and Mini at McEnearney Quality Inc., Johnny Tudor, said the European Union had banned the export of vehicles with EU4 and EU5 standard engines almost a year ago to several countries, including Barbados, until the quality of diesel improved or was at “an acceptable level”.
