A teenager accused of breaking into a woman’s house and stealing her laptop computer was yesterday admitted to bail in the sum of $75,000 when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton.
The allegation against Rudolph Marks, 17, is that on August 9 at Georgetown, he broke and entered the dwelling house of Temisha Glasgow and stole therein one laptop computer valued $302,000, property of the said Glasgow.
The unemployed Phase Two, East Ruimveldt Squatting area resident was not required to plead to the indictable charge of break and enter and larceny when it was read to him at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
No facts on what transpired on the day in question were presented to the court.
Police sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, raised no objection to the accused being granted his pre-trial liberty but requested that conditions be attached.
The court agreed to the prosecution’s request that the accused report to the East Ruimveldt Police Outpost every Friday at 9:00am.
Marks was later placed on $75,000 bail and ordered to attend Court One on November 8.
