A Bible teacher accused of using threatening behaviour towards a man was yesterday placed on $10,000 bail when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton. It is alleged that on August 22 at Georgetown, Robert Williams made use of threatening behaviour to O’Neal Taylor, thereby resulting in a breach of the peace.
The ‘A’ Field Sophia resident who is also a clothes vendor pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him by the magistrate at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court. No facts of what transpired on the day in question were presented to the court.
The prosecution had no objection to the accused being granted his pre-trial liberty but requested that conditions be attached.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey asked that the accused be placed on a bond to keep the peace. The court further ordered both parties not to have any interaction with each other while the matter is being determined and they both acceded to this condition.
