Caribbean Airlines (CAL) last evening said that five flights scheduled to depart from Port-of-Spain today have been cancelled because of Hurricane Irene.
CAL said that flights BW 420, BW 424, BW 500, BW 502 and BW 524 have been cancelled.
Two flights departing New York today have also been cancelled. These are BW 421 and BW 525.
Caribbean Airlines said it has been advised that the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority is actively preparing for Hurricane Irene, which was expected off North Carolina last night and with a projected trajectory close to New York today.
