The Mora Parika Neighbourhood Democratic Council in collaboration with the business community and the Ministry of Tourism will be hosting a grand Parika Night and Expo tonight at Parika.
The event is aimed at offering participants the opportunity to demonstrate the exceptional nature of the products and services offered in the community, including locally-made products.
The expo includes a cultural presentation and games for both adults and children such as a merry-go-round and trampoline jumping, and a special guest artiste will heat up the atmosphere with a tempo for dancing. Guyanese international reggae star Natural Black, with the Trinidadian Chutney King will entertain the audience, and additional musical fare will be provided by a number of famous stereo systems including Fusion International, Slingers Family, HiFi Sound and Big Life Sound. There will also be a special feature presentation by Shakti String International.
As the evening unfolds there will be a variety of competitions and lucky persons will we able to walk away with cash in the form of Guyana currency. Prizes will be on offer for the best crop produce, best cultural dishes and best booth display. And that’s not all; young women can take part in a pageant where they can showcase their intelligence, talent and beauty.
The fun will commence from 3 pm, and the expo will occupy the space from the Toto Gas Station to Charles Street. There will be a well stocked bar and well as things to eat. Admission is free.
