(Barbados Nation) Barbadian-based REDjet is back in the air and tourism officials are relieved.
The officials believed the longer the aircraft remained grounded, the more significant would have been the negative impact on earlier projections for Barbados’ tourism arrivals from the region.
Late yesterday evening, a media statement from the airline’s corporate communications executive Nyssa Pierre advised that services from Barbados to Guyana and Trinidad would have resumed last night.
“Flights begin at 7:30 p.m. with Flight RD221 from Barbados to Guyana, and our last service Flight RD307 is scheduled to arrive from Trinidad to Barbados at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, thus enabling us to make sure our delayed passengers arrive at their destinations as soon as possible.
“It also ensures our schedule returns to normal for all flights booked for Wednesday August 31 when our first flight of the day is scheduled to depart Barbados at 8 a.m. tomorrow for Guyana,” Pierre added.
