BASSETERRE, St Kitts, CMC – Barbados defended their St Kitts Under-13 Festival in style, crushing the St Kitts Development XI by a whopping 198 runs in their final match here Monday.
Winning the toss and batting first at Conaree Sports Complex, Barbados piled up 238 for five off 25 overs.
Daniel Chesham narrowly missed out on a century when he slammed 97 with eight fours and three sixes, while Nicholas Kirton carved out 43 and Desmond Currency, 29.
For the Development XI, Ozekiel Hewitt snared two for 38.
In reply, St Kitts struggled to 40 for six off 25 overs with Hasani Newton (2-7) and Camrie Boyce (2-8) finishing with two wickets apiece.
Barbados played unbeaten in the tournament to finish with maximum points.
In the other game played, Dominica beat Anguilla by 46 runs to finish fourth in the standings.
Playing at Warner Park, Dominica chalked up 126 for four off 25 overs and then restricted Anguilla to 78 all out off 22.3 overs.
Nevis finished second while St Kitts were third.
The tournament was set to wrap up yesterday with a Ten10 competition.
