The NDC office at No. 54 Village, Corentyne, Berbice was on Wednesday night broken into and two security guards attacked by armed bandits, who carted off $50,000.
According to a police release, the robbery occurred at around 11 pm, during which Clarence Carrington, 69, of No. 64 Village, Corentyne and Deodat Sanichar, 64, of No. 54 Village, Corentyne were attacked and robbed by two men, one wielding a handgun.
The release stated that the two men were on duty at the NDC office, when they were confronted by the perpetrators who tied them up and broke into the office, cut open a safe and made off with the $50,000.
