The Berbice Cricket Board in order to expose younger players to a higher level of cricket has organized a series of 40-overs cricket matches between the Berbice Under-21 team and their counterparts from Georgetown and the East Coast.
The matches would be played on a home and away basis and trophies to be awarded would be named after outstanding players from the areas.
Chairman of the BCB Special Events Committee, Hilbert Foster is spearheading the Under-21 team project.
Last year the board had formed a Berbice ‘A’ team but with the legal dispute in Demerara they would be unable to do so this year.
The Junior Selection Committee of the BCB met Tuesday last and selected the following players to commence training for possible selection on the Under-21 team:
Harrinarine Chattergoon, Dominic Rikhi, Eon Hooper, Seon Hetmyer, Jonathan Foo, Anthony Bramble, Joemal La Fleur, Chandrashekar Arjune, Sherwin Mc Pherson, Keion De Jesus, Keon Joseph, Shawn Pereira, Loyydel Lewis, Gudakesh Motie-Kanhai, Zaheer Hussain, Clinton Pestano, Keyron Fraser, Raffiel Estriado, Mark Lionel and Ameer Rahaman.
