Police say that at about 1.15 am today a man was alerted by the barking of dogs at his home at Seafield Village, WCB, and on checking saw two men stealing two horses from his brother’s yard nearby.
The brothers pursued the two men in a motor vehicle and managed to apprehend one of them, while the other escaped.
An unlicensed .32 revolver with four matching rounds was found on the perpetrator and handed over to the police.
The man is in police custody and charges will be made shortly.
