One of two men who were seen stealing horses at Seafield Village, West Coast Berbice yesterday has been apprehended.
Police said in a press release yesterday that an unlicensed .32 revolver with four matching rounds was found on the perpetrator and was handed over to the police.
Reports according to the release are that at 0115 hours a man was alerted by the barking of dogs at his home at Seafield Village and on checking saw two men stealing two horses from his brother’s yard nearby.
The brothers pursued the two men in a motor vehicle and managed to apprehend one of them, while the other escaped.
The man is in police custody and charges will be made shortly, the release said.
