The Flying Stars Cycle Club will be holding its annual Victor Macedo Memorial Road Race this Sunday starting outside the Ocean View International Hotel on the East Coast.
And this event is being dubbed “the race of the year” with most of Guyana’s top riders expected to compete.
The race which will be sponsored by Macedo Transportation Services promises to be highly competitive as well as lucrative for the winners with top dollars and other prizes at stake.
Alonzo Greaves, Enzo Matthews, Geron Williams, Robin Persaud and Lear Nunes who are scheduled to participate in the Caribbean Elite Championships in Jamaica from September 17 to 18 will be among those in contention on Sunday.
The race commences and concludes outside the Ocean View International Hotel. The seniors will ride to the Abary Bridge and return (120 km), and the females and veterans will journey to Mahaica Old Road and return via the New Road (88 km), while the juniors will ride to the Half Way Tree, Mahaicony and return.
