Police last Friday arrested a man following investigations into the theft of a quantity of raw gold from a business place at Mahdia, Region Eight.
According to a police press release, during investigations into the simple larceny report and as a result of images viewed on a CCTV recording, police arrested the suspect around 23:00 hrs at Mahdia.
At the time of his arrest, the release said, the man was found to be in possession of an unlicensed .32 Taurus revolver with four rounds which were in a haversack.
The suspect is currently in police custody assisting with the investigations.
