The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) in conjunction with the International Football Federation (FIFA) will stage a one week Elite Coaching Course at the Carifesta Sports Complex.
The course, which will be conducted by FIFA Instructor Alvin Corneal of Trinidad, commences today and ends Friday.
Aproximately 25 coaches selected from the various football associations affiliated to the GFF, and from Clubs in the National Super League, are expected to attend.
According to a press release, “The Elite Coaching Course follows on several previous Courses and Seminars conducted under the auspices of the GFF earlier in 2011.
“These courses are intended to aid in the development of Administrators and Coaches and to equip them with the relevant knowledge and skills to function more effectively in their respective roles in Associations and Clubs,” the release stated.
Registration of participants at the course will commence from 8:30 am, followed by a brief opening ceremony from 9:00 am. Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Alfred King, will deliver the opening remarks.
