The 2011 Tenelec Inc. First Division limited overs round robin competition in Berbice continued last Sunday with Ralph Ogle turning in an outstanding performance.
Ogle was the backbone of the West Berbice innings, slamming 95 with 10 fours and four sixes as West Berbice reached 211 for 8 in 45 overs against Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets.
Rose Hall, in reply, slipped to 49 for 3 before Khemraj Mahadeo, batting with a swollen face after being hit by a ball, put on 112 for the fourth wicket with Rajiv Ivan (42).
Mahadeo went on to make 85 (11 fours) and steer Rose Hall to 215 for 7 in 38.4 overs.
Rocky Beepat 81 (6×4 and 4×6), Richard Ramdeen 66 (9×4)), Kevin Ramdeen 51 (6×4 and 3×6) and 14-year-old Shimron Hetymeyr 44 (6×4 and 1×6), helped Young Warriors reach 297 in 41.3 overs.
Memorex Bermine, in reply, made 219 in 37.1 overs with Eugene La Fleur and Stephen Latcha scoring half centuries.
Junior Blair took 6 for 51 from 9.4 overs to help Skeldon Community Centre dismiss Port Mourant Karibee Rice for 194 in 43 overs. However, his effort went in vain as Skeldon were in turn bowled out for 161 in 47 overs.
Sewnarine Chattergoon and Narsingh Deonarine hit 76 (6 fours and 1 six) and 74 (3 fours and 5 sixes) respectively while Jonathan Foo slammed a quick 44 (3 sixes and 1 four) as Albion Community Centre reached 252 for 7 in 37 overs against Blairmont Community Centre.
Left arm spinner Parmanand Ramdhan, took 4 for 28 from four overs.
Blairmont, in reply, were bundled out for 86 in 32 overs with Deonarine and pacer Satesh Dwarka picking up three wickets each for Albion.
Raid Ally took 5 for 20 from nine overs bowling off-spin to help Edinburgh dismiss Police “B” Division for 153 in 34 overs.
Ally then came back with the bat and slammed 53 not out (6×4) which together with 53 (4×4) from Shafiq Khan, his second consecutive half century, guided Edinburgh to victory with seven wickets to spare.
