A suspect in several arson matters is now a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), after he was shot by police while resisting arrest.
According to a police press release, at about 4:30 pm yesterday, Wenford Campbell called ‘Strong Man’, 37, a suspect in several arson matters under investigation, was seen by members of a police patrol at Avenue of the Republic, Georgetown.
The release continued that during efforts to arrest him Campbell attacked the ranks with a cutlass which he had in his possession, causing the police to resort to the use of force, and he was shot to his left hip. Campbell was admitted a patient at the GPH, where he is under guard, police said.
