Richard Gomes’s bowling led Rockaway to a 55-run win last Sunday in the ongoing Bakewell male and female softball tournament, which is being held at various grounds across the country.
Asked to bat first by Redemption, Rockaway worked their way to a challenging total of 120 for six as Davanand Samaroo led from the front with a well compiled half century of 61 runs to place his team in a firm position.
In reply, Redemption were unable to get any partnerships going as most of the batsmen were stifled by the bowling of Gomes as he consistently asked questions of Redemption’s batsmen.

Good Fortuin All Stars ‘A’ picked a lopsided victory as they downed Tornado by 104 runs in their match-up.

Floodlights batted first and amassed a massive total of 180 for seven as Wayne Jones ended not out on 33.
East Bankers in reply were in with a chance before Deonarine’s bowling proved to be too much for them to cope with. Deonarine ended with a five-wicket haul of 5 for 17.

The total was always unreachable for Lusignan as they put together an innings of 142 all out with Mark Harold leading the way for Trophy Stall with bowling figures of four for 20.
On the distaff side, Underdogs picked up a much needed victory against Ariel Divas after being defeated earlier in the day by Young Vikings.
Underdogs were held down by the young Vikings Bowlers as they reached a total of 93 for one with Shaneeza Ramsaywack scoring 40 runs of the total.
However, Underdogs returned the favour with economic bowling as they held the Divas to 74 for three in their allotted overs.

In reply, Vijay Baljit equaled the feat of Dindial as he stroked his way to 54 leading the Masters to the much deserved win as Success finished on 199 for nine.
