Dear Editor,
Guyana Power and Light on September 8 planted two high voltage electrical cables over my premises at Lot 1, Hydronie, Parika East Bank Essequibo in order to supply a housing scheme with electricity. These cables have been planted in a hazardous manner and pose a risk to the residence.
Ever since this was done the owner has made numerous calls and complaints to the offices at Vreed-en-Hoop, Sophia and Main Street, only to end up going around in a circle to an officer who seems bent on harassment. The pleas were ignored and the owner’s democratic rights were denied, since to date nothing has been done about the matter.
I am applealing to the relevant authorities to look into this immediately before it is too late.
Yours faithfully,
H Narine
