Fruta Conquerors and Santos have advanced to the semi-final stage of the Milo Under-23 tournament after comfortably disposing of their opponents Sunday evening at Tucville Playfield.
Santos’ margin of victory was wider, defeating Georgetown Football Club (GFC) 3-0. Santos’ Colin Harris drew first blood in the 15th minute but GFC leveled in the 30th minute with a strike off the boot of Cardel Tudor. However, that was GFC’s last successful attempt as Santos took control, scoring in the 70th minute and then in the 80th minute via Jermain Bamfield and William Europe respectively.
In the feature match Northern Rangers were edged one goal to nil with the goal coming from Eon Alleyne in the 18th minute.
The two other quarterfinal matches will be contested tomorrow between Flamingo and Beacons (18:00 hours) and Guyana Defence Force (GDF) against Police (20:00 hours) at the same venue.
