Canada’s Public Safety Minister Vic Toews announced yesterday that Shameer Allie, a 36-year-old native of Guyana, has been deported back to his homeland, according to the Edmonton Journal.
Allie was detained in September by Toronto police after the Canada Border Services Agency received a tip through the agency’s website.
The report said tha the now-deported man has numerous convictions in Canada, including weapons offences and violent crimes.
His name appeared on a list of 30 men and two women wanted for deportation because they committed crimes ranging from drug offences to second-degree murder.
Five men on the list have been captured so far by the CBSA and Allie marks the second to be kicked out of the country.
