Beacon and Police Football Clubs will join Fruta Conquerors and Santos in the semi-finals of the Milo Under-23 competition tonight at the Tucville Playfield from 18:00 hours.
Santos take on Police in the curtain raiser while Fruta Conquerors face Beacons from 20:00 hrs.
In Wednesday’s match Beacons defeated Flamingo 2-1 with Desmond Cottoy and Michael Henry scoring in the 31st and 105th minute respectively. Flamingo’s Alpha Mc Phoy scored his team’s consolation goal in the 4th minute.
In the feature game Police and Guyana Defence Force (GDF) were locked at one goal apiece at the end of regulation and extra time. However, when the match reached the penalty shootout stage Police emerged victors.
Meanwhile, Fruta Conquerors and Santos have advanced to the semi-final stage after they comfortably disposed of Northern Rangers and Georgetown Football Club (GFC) respectively. Conquerors needled Northern Rangers 1-0 while Santos defeated GFC 3-0.
Santos’ Colin Harris (15’), Jermain Bamfield (70’) and William Europe (80’) were the goal scorers while Eon Alleyne (18’) scored for GDF.
