National Cycling Coach Hassan Mohamed is hosting 11 race cycle programme at the National Park Circuit on Saturday.
The races set are the boys and girls 12-14 years three-lap; the veteran under-50 five-lap; the veteran over 50 five-lap; the veteran over 60 five-lap. A 10-lap race for juveniles will also be held, along with an upright cyclist five-lap.
A BMX boys open three-lap, BMX boys 12 to 14 years three-lap; BMX boys nine to 12 years three lap and BMX boys six to nine years two-lap will also be held. There will also be a school boys and invitation 35-lap race.
The programme is sponsored by Unitech Awning in memory of former Continental Cycle Club cyclist Noel ‘Pokan’ Persaud who died on January 20, 1980.
Mohamed had competed with the late Persaud in the early and late 70s. Persaud’s son Ray will distribute prizes to the winners. The race starts at 9am.
